
Volunteer
Before you volunteer you must complete FEMA Courses:
- ICS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System
- ICS-200: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
- IS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction
Provide a Background Check:
*Depending on the role in our organization you may be required and be willing to self-fund other memberships and certifications depending on the availability of funding
Swivel Response Teams
Field Teams
Lifeline Team

Perform standard wilderness and urban search and rescue operations.

Provide advanced emergency medical care at the level of EMT or higher.

Stabilize injured survivors and prepare them for evacuation or transfer to higher medical care.

Operate in high-risk environments requiring both rescue and medical expertise.

Support other field teams by serving as the primary casualty care unit during missions.

Maintain specialized medical equipment and ensure readiness of trauma/aid kits.
Pathfinder Team
-
Conduct primary search operations in wilderness, urban, and disaster environments.

Locate, access, and extract missing or trapped individuals.
-
Perform basic first aid and stabilize patients until Lifeline or higher care arrives.

Operate technical rescue equipment (ropes, stretchers, GPS, drones, etc.).

Assist command with mapping, navigation, and tracking in difficult terrain.

Maintain readiness for rapid deployment in both day and night operations.
Support Team
Sierra Team

Provide logistical and administrative support to field operations.
-
Manage communications, dispatch, and coordination with command.
-
Maintain and distribute supplies, equipment, and vehicles.

Organize staging areas, base camp operations, and resource tracking.

Support mission planning with documentation, record-keeping, and reporting.

Serve as a relief and morale support element for field teams.
Search and Rescue is a necessary role, but not an easy one!

Participation in Search and Rescue (SAR) operations as a volunteer with the Lifeline, Pathfinder, or Sierra Teams is strictly voluntary.

Volunteers acknowledge that SAR activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to: exposure to hazardous environments, extreme weather, physical exertion, injury, illness, or psychological stress.

Volunteers agree that they are not employees of the organization, nor entitled to wages, benefits, or workers’ compensation.

All volunteers are expected to act within the scope of their training and assigned role (e.g., Lifeline: advanced medical response, Pathfinder: field search and rescue, Sierra: support and logistics).

Volunteers must comply with all safety protocols, training requirements, and lawful instructions from team leaders and command staff.

The organization, its leadership, and affiliated partners shall not be held liable for personal injury, property damage, or loss sustained during volunteer activities, except as required by applicable law.

Volunteers are responsible for maintaining their own health, fitness, and readiness to participate in missions.

Volunteers will be subject to background checks, training verification, and equipment inspections as determined necessary by the organization.

Participation in any mission implies that the volunteer has read, understood, and agreed to this disclaimer.
